A lowland clan of Strathearn, the chiefly house seated at Drummond Castle. Its grandest title, the Duke of Perth, was the Jacobite dukedom of the line — James Drummond, Duke of Perth, was prominent in the 1745 rising and died in 1746 aboard a French frigate while attempting to escape.
