In this pattern the blue is joined to the black and the yellow and white are of equal size. The red stripe on the white, not present here, signifies a 'Victoria' sett. The Dress Stewart tartan alongside its 'formal' partner, the Royal Stewart, is known throughout the world as a symbol of Scotland.
