MacLeod of Assynt
A tartan of the MacLeod of Assynt family. Its design is pattern GBKGKR — the page of every tartan sharing this colour sequence.
Worn by the 24th chief at George IV's 1822 Edinburgh visit; resembles the Vestiarium "loud" design.
The MacLeod of Assynt tartan groups 2 setts — the same named design recorded as different cloths (its kilt, Carpet, Child's…, or a transcription apart). The master sett (★) is the exemplar.
