Its design is pattern BGBGBGKBGBKBGBKGBGB — the page of every tartan sharing this colour sequence.
Designed 1992 by Wm. H. Johnston, based on the Black Watch worn at the 1763 Battle of Bushy Run near Pittsburgh.
