    This came into being as a commemorative tartan commissioned by Jim McGlynn and dedicated to his late son Andrew James McGlynn who died in 1993. The red and blue are the colours of the Canadian Forces Engineers and the green represents the Canadian Forces base at Borden, Ontario. This tartan can be worn by all of the name McGlynn and its spelling variants.
