Earliest known date: c.1885 Possibly designed for the wedding of Princess Beatrice, youngest daughter of Queen Victoria, to Prince Henry of Battenburg in 1885 or as a commemorative tartan of that occasion. Records of the sett first appeared in the lists of Ross and Johnston, c.1930.
