- 01/01/2002 — Cameron Black & Red (Dress) (register-of-tartans, record)
Lt. Col. I B Cameron Taylor writes, "It is possible that this sett was designed as a mourning tartan, as these were at one time popular, though usually in black and white." MacGregor-Hastie collection is found in the Scottish Tartans Society archive. - pre 2002 — Cameron, Black & Red (Artefact) (tartans-authority, record)
Inverness Museum has a piece of this sett labelled as Cameron Dress. Lt. Col. I B Cameron Taylor suggested that this may be a mourning tartan. Usually they were in black and white but the sombreness of this, even in red and black, suggests this possible derivation. Woven sample from Sinclair/Brown Scrapbook.
