  • 01/01/1880 — Fletcher of Dunans (register-of-tartans, record)
    Same as #257 (original Scottish Tartans Authority reference) Fletcher but with black overstripe changed to red. D.C. Stewart simply called this Fletcher. His opinion confirmed by 1880 Clans Originaux entry discovered/noticed in June 2004 which calls this 'Fletcher'. Black tramlines are thinner and closer together in the Clans Originaux sample. Fletchers were arrow makers associated with the Stewarts and Campbells in Argyll and with the MacGregors in Perthshire. W & A K Johnston Tartans of the Clans and Septs of Scotland, 1906.
