Designed by James Linden of Law in Lanarkshire as a family tartan for anyone of the name Linden. The blue and white is from the Saltire, the purple and green from the thistle. The name Linden appears to come from the Linden tree and is associated with the colour green. The Linden tree is a lime tree.
