The colours are taken from the flags of the two nations and the Atlantic Ocean that separates them. This is a restricted tartan; information from the Edinburgh Woollen Mills - before 2002 — United States (Corporate) (tartans-authority, record)
Created for the Scottish Tourist Board as a promotional tool in the US. Colours are from the US and Scottish flags. This design is different in warp and weft but the weft count is not known at this stage. The display therefore gives the general appearance only.
