Designed by Marjorie Warren, North Carolina for the Lees-McRae College, Banner Elk, North Carolina. Lees-McRae College is at the base of Grandfather Mountain, the site of the largest Highland Games on the east coast of the USA. The college is a Presbyterian school of about 400 and holds summer schools in piping, dancing etc. Officially Recorded 17/08/04 Based on the Lee Family Tartan and using the school colours of green and gold plus the saltire blue stripe of the Presbyterian church. The red is dedicated to the late Rev. Edgar Tufts and the white is dedicated to the teacher Elizabeth. The black is for the local mountains.
